Prunes?!
Noah has been doing such a good job eating lately! Tonight we tried something new, prunes. Personally, I think they're YUCK! I honestly didn't think Noah would like them, but he LOVED them! I had to share these pictures of him after dinner. It looks like he has chocolate pudding all over his face.
Colorado and Christmas
Noah has had a very busy first holiday season! About three weeks ago we visited my Mom and brother, Jacob, in Atlanta. One week after we got home from that visit, we left for Colorado to spend time with Adam's family. His parents just built a beautiful house there and it was our first time to visit. It would also be Noah's first time to see SNOW (although most of it had melted by the time we got there with the unseasonably warm temperatures). He wasn't quite sure what to think of it. Or maybe he just wasn't sure about being all bundled up! Ha!
Adam's brother and sister and their families were also in Colorado. Noah was able to have some playtime with his cousin, Truett, who is one month older than Noah. It was so cute to watch them play together!
When we returned home from Colorado, we celebrated Christmas, just the three of us! Noah had a good time opening all of his presents. I think he enjoyed the paper more than the actual presents!
On New Years Eve, we celebrated with Adam's family at Uncle David and Aunt Marilyn's house. Again, Noah did pretty well with presents! He's had a great first Christmas!
We had so much fun celebrating with our families! We can't wait until next year!

6 Months
Noah, you are 6 months old! Today we are celebrating your half birthday! Here's what you've been up to:
- You weigh 18 lbs, 14 oz (75%) and are 27 inches (75%) long! You've grow about 3 inches since your last exam at 4 months. Head circumference is 44cm (60%).
- You are still in a size 3 diaper and are wearing mostly 6-9 month clothing.
- Just this past week you have become interested in eating solids. We are very happy about this! Right now you are enjoying rice cereal and will start more foods very soon.
- You are now rolling over from your belly to your back and your back to your belly. You certainly do not stay still for very long!
- In addition to rolling over, you are scooting around on the floor a lot.
- You can sit up by yourself for a few seconds. We are still working on mastering this skill, but you are doing great!
- You are constantly babbling and talking! Lately you have been saying "mama-mama-mama" a lot.
- You still love your exersaucer and are now enjoying your Johnny Jumper that Grandma got your for Christmas. It's so fun to watch you bounce!
- You are very ticklish on your feet and if we can find the right spot, on your ribs too! I love to make you giggle!
- You love Lola! You will hold out your hand so she can give you kisses. Then she tries to give you kisses on your face, in which you are not so fond of! You also love to pet (and grab) the cats' fur. Surprisingly, they usually let you do this without moving away.
- You like to watch cartoons, for a short period of time. You love The Backyardigans. When you hear the theme song, you stop what you're doing and turn to watch.
- You are really into examining faces right now. You love to touch and grab the lips, cheeks, and nose of anyone who is holding you. You also love to pull hair (especially Mommy's!).
- We're still working on those teeth coming in. You are drooling like crazy and put everything in your mouth that you can get your hands on.
- You are still not completely sleeping through the night. I've decided that you will just do this when you are good and ready. You usually wake up once to eat, maybe twice.
- You have also graduated to the "big boy" stroller and car seat. You no longer sit in the "bucket"!
- You have been on a couple of road trips to see family in San Antonio and in Atlanta. Both trips you did great! You will be leaving for another road trip to Colorado next week.

Atlanta
On Friday, we left for Noah's first long-distance road trip to Atlanta, GA, to visit my mom and brother, Jacob. I was nervous on how Noah would do in the car all day long, but he did great! We only had one minor meltdown at the end of the day Friday but I certainly don't blame him. I was about to meltdown too! Ha!
We stayed overnight Friday in Birmingham, AL and then drove the rest of the way Saturday morning. My mom was just moving into her new house so we were able to be her first guests.
On Saturday night, Grandma kept Noah while Adam and I went to see my brother in Atlanta Ballet's production of the Nutrcracker. My brother has been dancing since he was 8 years old and has been a part of the Atlanta Ballet for at least the past 5 years. His girlfriend, Rachel, also dances with them. The show was SO great! It had been almost 8 years since I've seen it and I loved it!
Sunday night we had Christmas with my mom, Jacob, and Rachel. It was so much fun!
We left for home on Monday morning. Our plan was to stop for the night in Shreveport, LA, but we made such good time that we kept going to Longview, TX and stayed the night at Adam's aunt's house. It had been awhile since we had seen Aunt Pat and Uncle Bob, so it was nice that we were able to visit with them. Adam's cousin Jill and her family came by Monday night once we arrived. Their little girl, Lauren, loved Noah! It was the sweetest thing to watch! She would hug him and he would give hugs and kisses back!
We made it back home on Tuesday morning. While it was so nice to visit with family, it was great to be back home!

Santa Baby
We took Noah to see Santa at the mall today. He did so well! We couldn't get him to smile for the camera, but I was just happy that he didn't start crying on Santa's lap!
We also went to visit our good friend, Diana. She is having her second little girl next month and her baby shower is this weekend. Since we'll be in Atlanta this weekend and I was going to miss her shower, I wanted to see her and bring her gift. Her daughter, Penelope, is adorable! She was so much fun today and really had Noah giggling playing Pop Goes the Weasel!

Blogging Survey
I try to keep this blog mostly about Noah, but came across this survey from a graduate student in Arkansas, doing her thesis on bloggers/blogging. Since I started this blog earlier this year, I have been connected to a wonderful community of other bloggers and I really enjoy not only blogging about my own life, but reading about others life experiences. I participated in the survey and urge other women/mommy bloggers to participate as well.
A link to the survey is below:
"If you are a woman who writes a blog with content predominantly about her family, and you have 10-15 minutes to spare, we would love to hear from you! We are doing research on bloggers, and invite you to take a survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/mommyblog Your participation will help one graduate student get one step closer to completing her thesis, and one step closer to graduation! Thank you for your input and for your time!"
And of course, I wouldn't do a post with out a couple pictures of this cutie-pie!
