Friday Phone Dump

This is my first post from the Blogger app on my phone. We'll see how it works!

I haven't done Flashback Friday in awhile but now I'm going to try something new - Friday Phone Dump. These are all pics I've taken with my phone these past couple of weeks. Enjoy!

First Haircut

Noah's hair took forever to grow in and finally, at one month shy of turning two years old, we took him in for his first haircut. Let me start out by saying, I LOVED his curls in the back and his little wings above his ears and I did NOT want to cut his hair. But it finally got to the point where it was starting to get unruly and needed to be trimmed, and there were some people (including Daddy) urging me to get it cut. We had tried a few months before, but the wait at the salon was so long that I just decided it was God's way of telling me it was just not the time for a haircut. Ha! The second try, after waiting a couple of months, we made an appointment at a local children's salon. Noah did fantastic! He actually sat perfectly still while the lady cut his hair. I think he was more confused by what was going on. It was actually pretty funny! She gave him a lollipop but he just held it, didn't even eat it while she worked on him. The end result was great! And I'm not going to lie, I did keep the hair she cut off. Ha! About 2 months later, it's time for another haircut!

This is actually an older picture, but you can see his curls in the back. So cute!
Waiting for our haircut...

Sitting still...

What am I supposed to do with this lollipop now? I can't move my head!
I didn't get an immediate after picture, but this was take a few days after. No more curls or wings!

4th of July

This was Noah's first 4th of July that he stayed up for fireworks. My mom and brother, Jacob, came to visit that week so we were able to enjoy the holiday with them. During the day, we headed to the pool for some swimming and then came home to grill some hot dogs. We left around 8:30 that night to get some ice cream and then watch the fireworks.

Noah did great most of the time. :) He normally goes to bed around 8:30pm so some parts of the evening involved mini-meltdowns. Once the fireworks started, he settled down. He really enjoyed the finale with all of the fireworks shooting one after another!

Mmmm...ice cream!

First attempt at a family picture...Noah was NOT having it!

Attempt #2...Noah's still not happy, but at least he's not covering Daddy's face with the flag!

Big Boy Bed

We had been talking about transitioning Noah to a big boy bed and decided to make this change on his 2nd birthday. It was the EASIEST transition we have ever made. He was so excited to have a big boy bed with new bedding! We had inherited a bed rail from family, but it turned out to be too big since it was made for a twin bed and Noah's is a toddler bed. We had planned on buying a new rail, but thought we would try without one for his nap, that was coming up soon that day. He did SO WELL that we decided to do without the bed rail and he has done great! He has only fallen out of bed once, but luckily it's a very short drop on a soft, carpeted landing.

Noah is excited for every nap and every night to go to his bed and has a big smile when he lays down.

So happy to have a big boy bed and big boy room!
This is his room from the door. I added a couple of pictures above his bed that coordinate with his bedding (which he picked out!) and more colored paper lanterns. It used to just be the blue, brown, and white.

From the corner of his room - his bookcase FULL of books! He loves to read. There is a new picture on his bookcase from his birthday party that has his friends in it.

Time to get up!

Birthday Party!

Noah had his 2nd Birthday Party a couple of weeks ago. This year was really fun because we were able to invite our family and his friends from school. It was also nice to be able to meet some of the parents.

We had Noah's party at a place called Going Bonkers. It's such a fun place! It has giant jungle-gyms, slides, tunnels and a small rides like Tea Cups. They also have a small arcade upstairs. It's great for all ages! His party was train-themed and we had cupcakes and ice cream after playing.

As soon as we got there, I turned on my camera, and realized the battery was dead so all of my pictures are from my phone.

Two of Noah's friends, E and W.

This picture is very blurry, but it was so sweet - Noah gave his friend, W, a hug when he saw him.

This car was a hit with the boys - they were all trying to pile in it and ride!

Noah is yelling at Daddy who is above in one of the jungle-gyms.

Get me out!

Cupcakes!

Party favor table - we had cookies made by Aunt Amy and train whistles in the goody bag.

Train cookies made by Aunt Amy - not only did they look amazing, but they were delicious! We were lucky to have a few extras to take home. :)

Cousin Garrett

Noah didn't cry this year when we sang Happy Birthday! :)

Cupcakes and ice cream! Yum!

I think Noah had two cupcakes and had blue icing everywhere!

I wanted to include all of these attempts to try to get a group picture - we never got even one where everyone was looking. It was so funny to watch this!

Noah had so much fun at his 2nd Birthday Party. I'm already trying to think of ideas for his third!!

Two Years Old!

Noah, you are two years old! I'm actually almost a month late posting this - but you have been keeping us busy! I still cannot believe that I have a toddler  - where have the last two years gone? You have grown so much over the past six months - not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. We have gone through a lot of changes in our family in the past six months and you have adjusted very well!

  • You weigh 29 lbs (50%-75%) and are 35.5 inches tall (75%). I think you're going to be tall!
  • You are wearing mostly 2T clothes, but some brands can wear a 3T. You are wearing a size 6 or 7 shoe.
  • You are wearing a size 5 diaper.
  • You now have all of your teeth except for 2 of your molars. You don't seem to be too bothered by them when they are trying to come through.
  • We finally caved (or I should say, Mommy finally caved), and we took you for your first haircut last month. You did great! It's actually time for another one soon!
  • You started school a little over three months ago when Mommy went back to work and you LOVE it! You love your teachers FaFa and Kay and you love all of your new friends!
  • You sleep very well at school - you take a two hour nap every day at school and at home, you will sometimes take up to a three hour nap on the weekends.
  • You sleep great at night! You go to bed at around 8:30pm and wake up around 8:00am.
  • You are now in a BIG BOY BED! This was the easiest adjustment we have gone through with you! You get so excited at night and even for naps to go to your bed. And, you've only fallen out once. Ha!
  • You are talking all the time now! You are starting to put two and three word sentences together and speak clearly.
  • You love to play outside. Whether it's riding your tricycle, driving your car, playing in the water table or playing baseball - as long as you're outside, you're happy!
  • You also love to draw and color. You've gone through two notebooks that you like to draw and scribble in. You also enjoy painting and playing with play-doh.
  • You also enjoy reading and will point out and say different letters on the page.
  • You are a great eater. You really love your fruits and veggies and are getting better about eating meats. You also love "tookies" (cookies)!
  • You are very independent and like to do things by yourself, but when you need it, you will ask for help.
  • At times, you have shown your "terrible twos" and have tantrums, but for the most part, you are a very sweet and good boy. We have just recently started using Time Out and it has worked some. If we ask you mid-tantrum, if you want to go to time out, you will stop crying/whining and be quiet. Sometimes you will even walk yourself to time out. Of course, you only stay there about a minute, but it seems to work.
Ready to go swimming

You may turn out like your Daddy and use both hands!

So happy to draw!
I love this picture!
Showing your independence - choosing your own clothes for school. Quite a fashion sense!
