Blogging Survey

I try to keep this blog mostly about Noah, but came across this survey from a graduate student in Arkansas, doing her thesis on bloggers/blogging. Since I started this blog earlier this year, I have been connected to a wonderful community of other bloggers and I really enjoy not only blogging about my own life, but reading about others life experiences. I participated in the survey and urge other women/mommy bloggers to participate as well.

A link to the survey is below:

"If you are a woman who writes a blog with content predominantly about her family, and you have 10-15 minutes to spare, we would love to hear from you! We are doing research on bloggers, and invite you to take a survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/mommyblog Your participation will help one graduate student get one step closer to completing her thesis, and one step closer to graduation! Thank you for your input and for your time!"

And of course, I wouldn't do a post with out a couple pictures of this cutie-pie!

Fun times in the exersaucer!

Bottoms up!

Noah's First Thanksgiving

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! We did! We visited my grandparents in San Antonio and were also able to visit with my Aunt Michele and best friend, Lori. It was so great to see everyone, especially since Grandma and Michele hadn't seen Noah since he was just a couple of weeks old and Grandpa and Lori had even met Noah!

Noah did great on the long road trip. It's a 4 + hour drive and I was worried he would be uncomfortable but he just played with his toys and slept the entire way down. We also stayed in a hotel this time and I was worried he wouldn't sleep since we were away from home, but again, he did great! It makes me more confident in our next road trip to Georgia to visit my mom in a couple weeks.

5 Months

Noah, you are 5 months old today! I cannot believe that in one more month, you will be having your half birthday. Here's what you've been up to this past month:

  • You're wearing a size 3 diaper and some 3-6 month, but mostly 6 month clothing.
  • You are almost sleeping through the night. You have finally started going to bed at a decent hour (between 7:30 and 8:30pm), instead of 10 or 11pm. This makes Mommy and Daddy VERY happy! You usually wake up just once to eat.
  • We tried rice cereal and some baby food when you turned 4 months old but you were just not interested yet so we took a break for a couple of weeks. Last week we tried again with rice cereal and pears, and you ate it! We'll slowly try new foods over the next few weeks.
  • You are a giggle-monster! You love to smile and laugh.
  • You discovered your feet last month, but now you are sucking on your toes. It's so cute!
  • You love to suck on your fingers, or Mommy and Daddy's fingers, or on anyone else's who put their hands near you.
  • We're still waiting for that first tooth to pop up. You drool like crazy and have been pretty grumpy that last couple of days, so I think it might be soon.
  • You love to look in the mirror. Mommy will stand in front of it and you will get the biggest smile on your face when you see "the baby in the mirror". Sometimes you get shy and smile and then turn your head into my shoulder.
  • You are "talking" more and more. I always say that you tell the best stories.
  • You love to watch the cats and Lola and always try to pet them when they come close to you. Of course, you also like to grab handfuls of fur, too! You also like to watch the fish in our aquarium. We've learned that this helps calm you if you are upset.
  • You love to be loved on, which is okay by me! You love kisses and now give kisses and hugs back. I love it!
  • You're also into faces now. You will pull on noses, lips and eyes when being held by someone.
  • You love to dance!
  • You went to your first playgroup at church last week. You were the youngest there, and one of only 3 boys. While you were having tummy time on the mat, 4 little girls all came to sit with you and one little girl kept giving you kisses! It was SO cute! I could have kicked myself for not bringing the camera. We will definitely be going back!

Mmmm...pears!

Love from Daddy!

    Aren't these cute?!

I decided not to dress Noah up this year since he wasn't going trick or treating and wouldn't be wearing the costume more than just for me to take pictures. But I did buy him a CUTE giraffe costume for next year. Can't wait for those pictures! Ha!

    Sunday Funday

Today we went to church for the first time since Noah was born. I know - we waited WAY too long. I was nervous about him staying in the daycare. Not because I didn't think they would take good care of him but because I was just nervous about leaving him without me. Well, he did GREAT! When we went to pick him up, he looked like he was having so much fun. They had him in a bouncy seat shaped like a car. It was similar to our exersaucer at home that he loves! I think I was the only one that cried this morning. Ha!

After church, we had planned on going to the Children's Aquarium at Fair Park. It's not quite open for business yet, but they are having a sneak peak now. There were still some empty tanks. The grand opening will be in December. This was Noah at the aquarium -

He slept the entire time there and on the way home.  He must have had a really good time in daycare! Adam and I had a good time. Here are some pics from the Aquarium and Fair Park.

Show Us Your Life - Nurseries & Children's Rooms

This week, Kelly's Korner is doing Show Us Your Life - Nurseries and Children's Rooms. I haven't participated in the other rooms mainly because I try to keep this blog about Noah. Now you can see his room! His room isn't too big. It used to be our office/anything room.

This is the view from his door.  I had a canvas made of the picture we used for his announcement and hung it over his crib.

Another view from the door. I just bought some chocolate brown blackout curtains for the window.

His bedding is pretty basic. We bought a blue minky dot bumper that I just love!

His dresser/changing table. The changing pad is also blue minky dot! I painted the letters of his name before he was born, hoping he would come out looking like a Noah since we hadn't 100% decided on a name yet!
Here is Noah's closet. I try to keep it organized. I have his clothes separated by size using some cute dividers I ordered online.

These are the shelves hanging above the glider. This one has a frame that says "Love at First Sight" and has his very first sonogram picture in it.

The other shelf has a bank just like one that I had when I was little. It says "Please Feed Animals Regularly". Ha! The two bunnies are Boo Boo Bunnies that my Godmother had made for Noah.

This bunny was a gift for Noah as well. I think it's SO cute!

This name plate is inside the toy chest my Grandma and Grandpa Anderson brought for Noah. I love that he'll always have this keepsake!

Here is the toy chest. It holds most of his stuffed animals right now and some other toys.

Hope you enjoyed the tour! Have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend!
