15 Months

You were not interested in pictures today but I loved the look on your face here!

Noah, you are 15 months old (and a few days)! I cannot believe how fast time flies. I look at you and see a little boy. You're no longer my little baby. You have become more independent, you're feisty yet sweet, you are very loving and you are so smart! Daddy and I love you to the moon and back! Here are some highlights of the last three months since your first birthday:

  • You weigh 25.4 pounds and are 31.5 inches long.
  • You are wearing 12-18 month clothing and wear a size 5-6 shoe.
  • You are wearing a size 4 diaper.
  • You now have 11 teeth.
  • Your hair is starting to grow more and more. I love your curls on the back on your head!
  • You take 1-2 naps each day. Your first (and sometimes only) nap is during the late morning and usually lasts about 2 hours. Your late nap is short; no more than one hour.
  • You sleep great at night - about 12 hours.
  • You are very good at walking...and running! You love to be "chased".
  • You love to laugh!
  • You love to play with your toys. Some of your favorites at the moment are your legos, stuffed animals, bouncy balls, race car set, puzzles and any utensil or plastic bowl from the kitchen! Ha!
  • You love to read books. I think one of your favorite times of the day is bedtime story time with Daddy.
  • You are eating like a champ! You LOVE vegetables! I hope you always do. You also love fruit, especially blueberries.
  • You have mastered your sippy cup (just after your first birthday) and love your milk!
  • You enjoy watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and The Backyardigans.
  • You still love bath time! You like to pour the cup of water on your head by yourself, although you usually end up pouring it onto your face. You also like to stick your face into the water in the tub.
  • You love your furry brother and sisters, although they usually try to run away from you when you try to give them hugs. :)
  • You are learning (and sometimes succeeding) to climb onto the furniture. Once you're on the couch, you look so happy and proud of yourself. You are content on sitting there for awhile.
  • You love to put things on your head - hats, sunglasses, bowls, lids - anything!
  • You are constantly babbling. I think you are SO close to talking. You do say a few words - Yoya (Lola), mamma, daddy, whoa, wow, ish (fish) and I swear you said "birdy" one day. You get very excited when you see birds!
  • You know a lot of your body parts. You know your head, hair, eyes, tongue, nose, ears, fingers, toes, and belly.
  • You love to be outside.  You enjoy going down the slides at the park and swinging.
  • You like to snuggle up with Mommy and Daddy.
  •

    Toy Boxes and Snuggles

Our cat, Millie, loves to squeeze into any box she finds. She's not a tiny cat, so it's pretty funny when she does this. Apparently, Noah has been taking some notes from her.

That was so much fun, he decided to go ahead and crawl into his own toy box.

And lastly, just because I want to remember this - Noah and Daddy snuggling on the couch together. It melts my heart!

    Bath Time

Noah really loves bath time! He just can't wait to get into the tub each night.

Lately, he will not sit in the tub. He either squats the entire time or he will lay on his belly.

    A New Favorite - Ravioli!

Noah tried ravioli for the first time this past week. I think it might be his new favorite food! Here are a few pictures from dinner the other night.

    Big Kid Rides

Noah and I went to the mall this week and I let him ride the "big kid rides" for the first time. He had so much fun!

    Driving the school bus.

    Driving the "Big Bruiser".

    Vacation and The Mobile Mishap

Adam left in late June for a 3-week work trip so my mom and I came up with a plan to take a road trip while he was gone. She flew out to Dallas on July 6th and we left that day for our road trip to Atlanta (Adam would fly out there when he returned from his trip to drive back with me). We were to stop in New Orleans and Gulf Shores before our final destination to the ATL.

New Orleans was great! It's such a fun city and I can't wait to go back with Adam. We walked down Canal Street, where our hotel was, and then headed to the Marketplace area for the evening. We even ate at Cafe Du Monde for breakfast before we headed out of the city. Yummy!

I had to get a picture of Bourbon Street. Ha!

I don't remember the name of the church, but it was gorgeous!

    "Yeah! I'm in New Orleans!"

Once we left New Orleans, we headed for Gulf Shores, Alabama. While in Mobile, we were involved in a 5-car accident on I-10. Luckily, we were at the very front of the collision so we were the least impacted. We were all okay, but my van, not so much. After a trip to the hospital to have everyone looked over, we were able to get a rental car and head to Gulf Shores for the weekend. Here are some pics of the van. We get to go back to Mobile in about 3 weeks to pick it up from the dealership where it is being repaired. Yay.

The back of the van - glass is everywhere! The back windshield completely shattered.

Noah's seat. Again, glass is everywhere. I'm SO happy is forward facing now!

Front passenger side. If you look close, you can see the glass that flew all the way up to the front. And it knocked my Coke out of the cupholder!

    Back of the van

This angle is much worse. :(

Once we arrived in Gulf Shores we just relaxed and then headed to the beach the next day. I forgot my camera in the hotel so didn't really take any pictures while we were there.

Grandma and Noah napping in the hotel.

We left for Atlanta on Monday and were so happy to get there! Noah loved spending time with his Grandma. They picked tomatoes and flowers in the garden and went for walks together. I'm so happy we were able to spend some time with my mom and I know Noah is looking forward to the next time!

    Noah's Birthday Party

I'm SO far behind on blogging! We've had a pretty busy month since Noah turned one.

We had Noah's party the day after his big birthday. It was a semi-Backyardigans theme. I didn't want to go crazy with Backyardigans items, but I wanted everything to be colorful. We had his party at our house and invited family and some of Noah's friends. I had a lot of fun putting together some of the decorations and small details.

I had a banner with all of Noah's monthly pictures displayed along the fireplace.

A close-up of the banner. I added the pictures, but ordered the banner here

I made a balloon wreath for the front door. I got the idea from the same place I ordered the banner.

I didn't really take many pictures because I was busy talking with everyone. Noah had so much fun playing with his friends and family. He did not, however, have fun with his smash cake. Ha! We did give him a smaller piece after the party and he enjoyed that one a little more.

Noah's smash cake. We had cupcakes for the guests.

Giving him the cake after singing Happy Birthday. Doesn't he look thrilled?

    First taste....

"Okay, I'm done, Mom. Get me out of here."

    "Get me OUT!!!"

"Why is everyone looking at me?!"

I cannot believe my baby is considered a toddler now! Over the past month he has gone from bottles to sippy cups, from formula to milk, from baby food to table food and is walking 100% of the time. I feel like he is growing up too fast!
